Durham Cathedral, officially the Cathedral Church of Christ, Blessed Mary the Virgin and St Cuthbert of Durham, is a Church of England cathedral in Durham, England. Built between 1093 and 1133 in the Norman (Romanesque) style, with later Gothic additions, it houses the shrines of Saints Cuthbert and Bede, making it a major pilgrimage site. The cathedral, together with Durham Castle, forms a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
